Hundreds of extras needed for Olivia Colman film shooting in Kerry

Jade Hayden

Hanging around the Kerry area at all this summer?

Because a new film starring Olivia Colman is shooting later this month, and they’re in the market for a whole load of extras.

The new movie, Joyride, tells the story of a solicitor named Joy (Colman) who has just given birth to a baby girl, and is hopeful that her friend will adopt the child as she is not ready to be a mother.

However, on the way to her friend’s house Joy’s taxi is hijacked and she is forced to face her own suppressed maternal instincts and consider whether she wants her daughter to be adopted or not.

Directed by Emer Reynolds and written by Kerry’s own Ailbhe Keoghan, the film will be shooting in the Tralee area towards the end of June and in July. Extras of all ages, genders, and looks are required for the shoot, including newborn twins and a mother who would breastfeed on camera.

MoviesExtras said: “We are looking for hundreds of extras to take part in the production. Extras of every age, gender and look.

“They could be a day or a couple of days on set. It will be early starts and late finishes so your own transport is essential.

“[People must] be available full days for filming with potentially very early call times. They will need to have their own transport. Locations are a maximum of 40km from Tralee.”
