Dublin Fringe Festival is just around the corner

Running from September 6th to 21st, Dublin Fringe Festival is back and better than ever.

Dublin Fringe consistently champions the next wave of Irish artists, with over 5,000 artists stepping into the spotlight every year.

But where do we even start with this year's wave of shows? It can be difficult to decipher what shows to attend, but there's one standout you need tickets for.

If you only have time for one play at this year's Dublin Fringe, make it Brambles.

Playwright and actor Cara Christie is no stranger to the Dublin Fringe Festival, after being chosen as one of the Dublin Fringe Festival’s Fringe Lab 50 Artists in 2020. 

Her play, Brambles, is a must-see at this year's festival, with performances scheduled from September 10th to 13th.

What is Brambles about?

Claire crash-lands into her sister Holly’s flat, on a mission to dig up the past. Holly is busy burying her own issues while her partner Glen longs to build their family’s future.
As they unmask old wounds, Brambles questions: Are we protecting the people we love, or are we just protecting ourselves?

This isn't just a story. It’s a lived, felt experience. Born from a personal place, Cara, the writer, wanted to explore the messy, complex relationship with her autistic brother. 

Brambles is a sharp, sensory exploration of family and the stories that shape us through two sisters who have grown apart, learning to find their way back to each other.
