I’m A Celeb’s Sair Khan on the big change Corrie bosses are making to her character

Keeley Ryan

She’ll be heading into the jungle in a few days time.

Coronation Street’s Sair Khan has revealed what’s going to happen to her character as she heads into the I’m a Celeb jungle.

The actress has played Ayla Nazir on the long-running soap for nearly five years, and is set to be swapping Weatherfield for Bushtucker Trials later this month.

And while she said that Coronation Street bosses have been supportive of her upcoming stint in the jungle, her appearance  on the reality TV show means that she won’t be able to film scenes for the soap for awhile.

Her character has been involved in a number of big plot lines over the recent months, so Corrie writers are said to have been trying re-arrange a few episodes to fit everything in (and account for her absence).

Sair said [via the Mirror] that her character “will be busy working” while she is away, as she spoke about how excited she is to be heading into the jungle.

She said:

“The weirdest thing for me is going in as myself. My character is so different to me. She is serious, stern and she can be uptight. I am the opposite!

“I am such a goof, I am always laughing, being cheeky and I don’t take myself too seriously. I guess people haven’t seen me and I want them to like me! If they don’t like her, that’s fine as it is a character but if they don’t like me, then that will be hard to take.”
