After months of keeping her lips zipped on all things royal wedding-related, Meghan Markle has finally spoken out about her nuptials.

Meghan is set to marry Prince Harry in Windsor on 19 May.

The former actress was at Westminster Abbey with her fiancé and the rest of the royal family today for her first Commonwealth Day service.

They were greeted by thousands of people outside the central London Abbey after the service, including hundreds of school children invited by the family and the Prime Minister.

Harry and Meghan chatted to a number of the children, including pupils from Thistley Hough Academy in Stoke on Trent.

One person who got some one-on-one time with future royal Meghan was Holly Hartley, principal of the Academy.

“She was saying what a lovely service it had been and her first service at Westminster Abbey,” Ms Hartley said.

“We congratulated her on her engagement.

“She was delighted and said she was ‘very, very excited’ she stayed chatting with us for quite a while – what a lovely, lovely lady.”

Earlier today, it was revealed that Meghan might find herself walking down the aisle on her big day in May alongside Prince William.

A source told the Sun that after becoming estranged in recent years, it’s now unlikely Meghan will invite her father and brother to her wedding.

She had intended to ask her mother Doria to do the honours of accompanying her down the aisle but that didn’t go down well with the royal family, the source said.

“Some of the royals aren’t happy about the idea, so they suggested that William do it.”
