The IRFU has reacted to Ireland’s Greg O’Shea entering the Love Island villa

He will enter the villa tonight.

Tonight, three new people will enter the Love Island villa, and we’re excited.

However, one of the three really stands out to us, probably because he’s Irish.

Yep, Greg O’Shea, a Limerick native, will be taking part in Love Island.

Greg is a 24-year-old professional rugby player who’s looking forward to bringing his “sociable and fun side” to the villa.

Go on son.

Greg says he’s looking for an outgoing girl who’s also quite chilled out and doesn’t take a lot of selfies.

He also fancies Maura, which is handy enough geographically.

“I need to get in the villa and see what the story is and who is good craic!” he says.

“I’d say me and Maura will hit it off straight away, being two Irish people and she’s hilarious. She’s very naturally funny and she’s gorgeous as well so you never know.”

Anyway, the fact that Greg plays for Ireland kind of made us wonder – what do the IRFU think about this venture.

We reached out to the folks in the IRFU, who said:

“Greg is a popular member of the Ireland Men’s 7s squad that have just completed a very successful season.”

“When he advised us he was going on the show we simply told him to enjoy his time in the villa and we would see him for pre-season training ahead of next season’s World Rugby Sevens World Series, which kicks off in Dubai in November.”

So there you have it lads, Greg will do his thing in the villa, but will return to the rugby pitch to represent Ireland before the year is out.

We really hope he goes far.

#COYBIG as the kids say.
