Fair play, lads.

Dúlamán are an Irish boyband from Meath and Kildare.

They specialise in Irish language songs, Irish dancing, and presenting a new kind of Celtic culture to an international audience.

They’ve also just gotten to the finals of Das Supertalent, or Germany’s Got Talent, as well as having signed a record deal to record an album in German.

Fair play to them, like.

Dúlamán, which literally translated to Seaweed in English, is a nod to the Irish song of the same name made popular by Clannad and Enya.

The band’s members, Kevin, Tom, Aaron, and Gavin – along with their 11 Irish dancers – applied for the German talent show a while back in the hope to promote their tour.

However, now they’ve actually gone and made it to the show’s finals, all thanks to their ability to sing in Irish.

Das Supertalent judge, Dieter Bohlen was only delighted when he heard the lads launch into an Irish language rendition of his ’80s hit, Brother Louie.

The judge even went so far as to say that the act “couldn’t get any better.”

But Dúlamán’s popularity didn’t stop there because, as it turns out, German people really love Celtic music.

The band continued to impress the judges and audiences around the country so much so that they literally have a chance at being crowned the winners of the German talent show.

Stunning.

Dúlamán will perform in the finals of the talent show next Saturday. They’ll be performing against 13 other acts in the hope of being crowned the winners of Das Supertalent.

Their album is due for release this week.
