We imagine everyone will be tuning in for this one.
Tonight sees the first entry into the six-part mini-series drama (so we can't go calling it a soap, we guess) Redwater, a spin-off from an Eastenders plot strand.
Kat and Alfie arrive in the fictional Irish town of Redwater, in search of some answers to some big questions that have plagued the couple for years in their soap.
Tying up some loose ends involving their lottery win, Alfie's mass discovered in his brain, as well as family complications, and critics who have caught the show early are singing it's praises:
"Atmospheric, intriguing and with a prime-time sheen that seems a world away from soapland, it'll have you hooked from episode one." - Radio Times
"It’s gripping and surprising, has a thoroughbred cast of Irish actors and is more filmic than soap. Worth delving into even if you’ve never heard of Kat and Alfie." - What's On TV
The show is a BBC/Element Pictures co-production, and Jessie Wallace and Shane Ritchie in the leads is an impressive set of Irish talent, including Fionnula Flanagan (Lost), Ian McElhinney (Game Of Thrones) and Maria Doyle Kennedy (The Tudors) amongst others.
The first of the six hour long episodes will debut on RTE One tonight at 9.30pm (it doesn't air on BBC One until Thursday, in case you miss it tonight), and it looks to be a massive departure from the soap.
