We’ll be waiting a bit longer.

ITV has postponed the release of the highly anticipated Big Brother reboot after it was announced to be returning in 2023.

The reality show was announced to be making a comeback in March of next year as it will move from Channel 4 to ITV2.

It has now been revealed that the show is being delayed as there are a number of different reality shows airing on ITV2 at the beginning of 2023, with the return of the winter Love Island and the all star I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: “Owing to the influx of big reality TV programming on air during the first half of 2022 we have taken the decision to move the transmission of Big Brother to a more prominent slot in the Autumn.

“This gives our viewers a whole calendar of big reality TV formats across the year.”

When the series finally does return, we’ll get to see a whole bunch of new housemates making themselves comfortable in the TV home for six weeks as cameras watch everything.

And one thing we can definitely expect is drama, as any other Big Brother series has shown us but this time around, they’re going for a new look and reimagining the show.

While no host has been announced, Longford’s very own Maura Higgins’ name has been thrown around quite a lot.

Previous hosts Davina McCall and Emma Willis have both said they would not be interested in hosting once again.

After rising to stardom on Love Island in 2019, the 31 year old is now in the running to host the upcoming series as ITV is looking for “homegrown ITV talent”.
