So it’s official!
We have now arrived at the end of a rather entertaining reality TV show era.
Yes, Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies have won Love Island 2017 – by beating Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt to the €56,000 prize money on Monday night’s final of the hit ITV2 programme.
The 21-year-old hairdresser and the Welsh dancer, 20, were the hot favourites to scoop the jackpot and the title.
Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood came in in third place.
The show – which had us all gripped – kicked off on June 5. Thankfully, it has already been confirmed that the reality TV island will be back on our screens next year.
Amber on Monday evening told presenter Caroline Flack: “When you get to know someone it’s so different. Type is nothing now. Paper means nothing.”
Meanwhile, Chris said of Amber: “I’ve found my future wife!”
Don’t hold back there, Chris, lad.
As well as securing the public vote, the loved-up duo were presented with a final challenge: after being told they had won, they each picked one of two envelopes – one contained the €56K prize, and the other contained nothing.
It was Kem who struck lucky – and while he could have opted to keep the entire sum of himself, he was happy to split it with Amber, stating: “Of course I’m gonna share it.”
Congrats, you guys!
