Jacqueline Jossa is set to make an explosive return to EastEnders in the coming weeks it has been revealed.

The 22-year-old, who had been away from the show on maternity leave, will return to our screens as Lauren Branning on September 17th.

Back in February, viewers bid farewell to Lauren as she headed off to New Zealand with Peter Beale, but is now set to return for the start of her dad Max’s trial as he is up for the murder of Lucy Beale.

Guess who's back ?!??

“Max’s trial will be a very exciting storyline and Lauren’s return will be explosive because she knows Max didn’t kill Lucy,” a source revealed to The Sun.

“She agreed not to unmask Bobby as the killer but surely that won’t be at the expense of her own father.”

While she is determined to clear her father’s name, her plans for a dramatic comeback go awry when her waters break and she is brought to hospital. She later gives birth to a baby boy called Louie.

The popular actress teased her return on Instagram over the last few days and viewers can’t wait to see her back on Albert Square.

She also shared an adorable video of baby Ella with the caption: “We are just catching up on some Eastenders, ella loves it [sic]!”
