Fans believed that Rowling was done with the series upon the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in the summer of 2007, but she kept readers up to date sporadically with blog posts and tweets on the goings on in the Harry Potter universe.
And when it was announced that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child would run in the West End, many hoped that Rowling would pick up her quill once more to expand the series further. But speaking at the premiere of the play, Rowling was clear in her refusal.
"I never wanted to write another novel, but this will give the fans something special," she said.Rowling has expanded the universe before, writing short books such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - which is now being made into a movie if its own. But it looks like all we're going to get from Rowling on the matter is seven novels, three additional supplements, a play, nine movies, a theme park and an interactive website which is regularly updated with new information on the series.
