
Middle Earth fans rejoice! A biopic about Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien is in development, according to reports.
The LA Times writes that the biopic will be named “Tolkien,” and “will examine the author’s life, particularly his formative years at Pembroke College and as a soldier in World War I, and how it influenced him and his work, according to a person familiar with the project who was not authorized to talk about it publicly.”
The biopic is to be produced by Chernin Entertainment and the script is reportedly already under way.
Chernin Entertainment has already produced films like Planet of the Apes. Fox Searchlight are also behind the project.
The second installment in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy based on JRR Tolkien’s books, is to hit the big screen on December 13th.
