Kendall Jenner under fire for new Vogue India cover
It's been bad few weeks for Kenny.
Kendall Jenner has come in for criticism for appearing on the cover of Vogue India. The model graces the magazine cover along with the words 'Indian Affair', but some people aren't happy.
This is the publication's ten-year anniversary edition and people have expressed annoyance that a non-Indian white woman got to front this special issue of the magazine.
Would be nice to see a dark skinned South Indian woman on the cover before Kendall Jenner ? #vogueindia https://t.co/TJ7vlljdVd

Remember when Kendall spoke about how Indian food was so disgusting and now she's on the anniversary cover of #vogueindia #levels

Who allowed Kendall to represent #VogueIndia ? Can we white wash further? pic.twitter.com/jozf9pt4ID

Wasn't the point of #vogueindia to celebrate brown fashion and not slap a white woman on it's cover for an anniversary issue?

Kendall's appearance here reinforces the idea that the model has a blind spot when it comes to race, given last month's Pespi ad debacle.
It could be pointed out though that Vogue India likely asked her to feature, not to mention that the has a whole team of people working with her.
Whoever is booking gigs for @KendallJenner this year...#vogueindia pic.twitter.com/7e6Abr1ohD

Either way, this row is indicative of a much wider problem in the fashion industry around the representation of people of colour. It will be interesting to see whether big brands will learn from controversy like this.
