“We wish he could be here to celebrate with us. But we know he is enjoying the hoopla from afar.”

As the highly anticipated Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That hits our screens, Kristin Davis has paid a touching tribute to the late actor Willie Garson.

Willie played Carrie’s best friend Stanford Blatch throughout the show’s original run but he sadly passed away earlier this year after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Taking to her Instagram, Davis, who plays Charlotte York, shared a photo of the show’s cast hanging out.

In her caption, she wrote: “I wanted to start today by paying homage to friends old and new. Especially our dear @willie.garson. This is a picture of our first read thru for And Just Like That…”

She continued: “This was a joyful reunion for many of us and also the first time we met some of our incredible new friends and cast members. Tonight we premier the new show and tmr you can all finally see it. Along with brilliant Willie’s performance.

Last month, Davis’ co-star Sarah Jessica Parker paid tribute to Garson during an interview with Vogue.

The actress said: “All I can say right now is that it’s as if a scoop has been taken out of me this week, and I don’t expect it to be filled.

“In time, my body will grow accustomed to this new architecture, but now I feel truly blue.

“It’s such a loss, and I think about how I’ll miss the joy of these relationships.

“I think about Willie and the show and how much we laughed.

“And I guess despite everything, that’s the headline: There’s so much good in the world, and we were all so lucky to be together, doing something we loved.”
