This could be deadly.

1976 saw the remake of 1954 musical drama A Star is Born hitting the big screen, starring Barbra Streisand as Esther Hoffman and Kris Kristofferson as John Norman Howard.

The iconic film received huge critical acclaim and won Barbra Streisand an Oscar.

Following rumours for years that a remake was on the cards, Beyoncé was reportedly attached to the project recurring the role of Esther, but many factors ensured the Hold Up singer was not secured for the role.

According to Variety, Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper is planning to direct and star in the remake, with Lady Gaga starring as the leading lady.

Reportedly, the film project will be produced through Cooper’s 22 Green Banner company also, making sure the remake will have that certain Bradley Cooper charm and polish.

Considering the stellar work Lady Gaga has put in with Ryan Murphy‘s American Horror Story:Hotel, it’s no surprise the Artpop singer has been linked with such a huge film.

With Gaga reportedly now on board, the remake of A Star is Born is set to start filming in February 2017.
