Lana Condor has teased a’difficult’ love triangle ahead in To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.

The highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before lands on Netflix next week (February 12, if we’re being exact). It picks up in the aftermath of the original movie, with Lara Jean and Peter no longer pretending to be a couple – they are a couple.

And as she goes through her ‘firsts’ with Peter — her first real kiss, her first real date, her first Valentine’s Day — she finds herself leaning more on Kitty and Margot, Chris, and an unexpected new confidant, Stormy, to help her manage the complex emotions that come with this new chapter of balancing a relationship and figuring out her authentic self.

But when John Ambrose, another recipient of one of Lara Jean’s old love letters, enters her life again she must rely on herself more than ever as she’s confronted with her first real dilemma: Can she love two boys at the same time?

And Condor – who plays Lara Jean – spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how Lara Jean and Peter’s “chemistry has evolved”, but that things get complicated with the return of John Ambrose.

“Their chemistry has evolved,” Condor said of the fan favourite couple.. “It’s more mature. And they are actually able to have real conversations.

“The first movie was about love letters and fake relationships, and in this one you really get to know more. We show that Peter’s flawed, and Lara Jean is flawed.”

The return of John Ambrose throws a bit of a spanner in the works, as Lara Jean finds herself questioning exactly what – and who – it is that she wants.

“Their friendship is also a very deep love,” the actress said of ‘true friends’ Lara and John. “Because you can love your friend very much, you get confused because you’re like, ‘Oh man, do I love him or do I love him as a friend?’ It’s very confusing.

“I think that when people see the movie, they’re going to be shocked because it’s very difficult [to chose between the couples]. Johnny Ambrose is awesome.”
