He would have made a great Bond.

Liam Neeson has revealed that he was once in talks to play James Bond. Nearly 20 years ago he was approached for the role but declined because of a very personal reason.

He was speaking to Men’s Journal when he told them that together with his late wife Natasha Richardson he decided against the role.

He said, “I was being considered. I’m sure they were considering a bunch of other guys, too.”

He then added the reason why stating that Natasha said she wouldn’t marry him if he took it. He explained:

“Women. Foreign countries. Halle Berry. It’s understandable. She was like, ‘You’re going to ruin your career.’ But it’s no big deal. It’s nice to be inquired after.”

He also said from now on he won’t be doing any roles which involve riding a motorbike following a crash that nearly killed him in 2000.

“I’ve read a couple of scripts where the character’s on a motorbike, and I’m like, ‘Is this important to the script?’ ‘Yeah, it is.’ ‘OK, I’m not in,’ “
