Line of Duty creator teases the identity of ‘H’ with Tim Tams and ah, now

Jade Hayden

What could it mean?

Probably nothing.

Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio has whipped everybody into a frenzy today by teasing the long-anticipated identity of ‘H’.

Well, he didn’t actually tease the identity, so much as post a photo of Tim Tams on Twitter, mention something about them being a clue, and listen to everybody lose their Goddamn minds.

Standard Thursday night, tbh.

Mercurio took to social media to share the image this evening, writing that it is apparently a “series 6 plot clue No. 1.”

Cheers, mate.

And yeah, we know right, there’s absolutely no mention here that that this, ahem, clue has anything to do with the identity of ‘H’.

But to be honest, it’s the only Line Of Duty plot point that people give that much of a shit about, so naturally they’re jumping on it.

You love to see it.

This comes just a month or so after Mercurio shared a lovely image of himself and cast members Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar out for dinner, eagerly awaiting to be joined by a selection of secret guest stars lined up for season six of the show.

Understandably, the identity of the guest stars was not revealed by Mercurio at the time, but lads, it’s alright.

He’s a master of subterfuge. We know this.

Anyway, Line Of Duty season six is due to kick off some time in 2020.

We don’t have an exact start date for the upcoming series just yet, but if Mercurio the absolute tease is anything to go by (and he is), we should have that information quite soon.

“One of the advantages of commissioning two ahead is that it allows you to take a breath and look forward to the next one,” he told Radio Times.

“And at the moment there is a great appetite among all of us involved in the programme to do more.

“What we don’t know is whether there will come a point where we kind of lose that enthusiasm to keep going back.”
