The Irish nightclubs with earlier opening hours as new restrictions introduced

Ellen Fitzpatrick

This is why we can’t have nice things.

It felt like nightclubs were only open for two minutes before the Taoiseach announced they would be closing again, or they may as well be.

Now with a curfew of 12am, all bars, pubs and nightclubs are being forced to finish up by midnight under the latest bout of restrictions.

Everyone’s favourite Dublin nightclub Copper Face Jacks has announced new opening times after the Government’s latest announcement, with others then following suit.

On Instagram they wrote: “In light of the government’s latest announcement, we are closing our doors at midnight from tomorrow onwards.

“Don’t worry though, we’ll be opening at 6pm every night of the week.”

The caption continued: “We want to keep bringing you the Coppers nights you love, so get down early and get free entry before 8pm.”

So who else is set to change their opening hours to reflect the new restrictions? We’ve got that sorted for you.

With Coppers now announcing that they’ll be opening at 6pm, there are a few others that are planning to do the same.

Popular nightclub Tramline will also be changing their opening hours, now open from 7pm to 12am, instead of their usual 10pm to 3am.

Pygmalion is also making the change, now opening at 9pm, except on a “Secret Thursday” when they open at 8pm.

Dicey’s Garden also jumped on this bandwagon, opening from 4pm to 12am after Thursday, following a massive goodbye party last night.

DNA in Galway is opening at 8pm to 12am, The Secret Garden in Cork is also opening at 8pm and The Camden in Dublin is also starting at 8pm.

The George has announced they will also be opening earlier, from 5pm to 12am. Xico on Baggot Street is opening at 7pm, with Yamamori Tengu opening from 8pm.

The Academy is opening at 7pm, O’Reilly’s is opening from 7.30pm and Krystle is also 7pm.
