The Lonely Island just dropped a brand new release on Netflix

Paul Moore

That’s your evening sorted.

The Lonely Island are back with… something. It’s not a music video, it’s not a film, and it’s not a comedy special.

Instead, the comedy trio have treated us to a 30 minute “visual poem” on Netflix that’s called The Lonely Island Presents the Unauthorised Bash Brothers Experience.

Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, a.k.a. the Lonely Island, are currently prepping for their first-ever live tour and their new Netflix release might be familiar to fans of the trio.

They previously released a track called “Bash Brother” which was a salute to former baseball players Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco and the 1989 World Series Champions, the Oakland Athletics.

Essentially, the visual poem imagines a world where McGwire and Canseco recorded an album together and things get weird, like, really weird.

If you can’t wait to get home and watch it, you’ll be pleased to know that the songs are already up on Spotify but much like “Dick in a Box” and “Jizz in My Pants” the tunes are always better when you’ve got the visual gags to accompany them.

We’ll let the lads take it away…
