It looks like the last few months of Diana’s life will be on The Crown

We’re in for a treat.

The Crown is returning for its fifth season and we’re about to get a massive look into the last few months of Princess Diana’s life.

Dropping a huge hint that the show will focus on how the end of her life played out, the show has just cast some new faces for the fifth season.

Khalid Abdalla is coming on board the much loved royal series to play Diana’s boyfriend Dodi Fayed, who tragically passed away during the same car accident that killed Diana in Paris in 1997.

Starring alongside Elizabeth Debicki who is set to take over as Diana from Emma Corrin, it looks like we’ll be seeing how the late 90s play out in her world.

With no specific storylines given away yet, this update can assure us we’ll definitely see how her life unfolded towards the end.

Diana and Dodi were first noted to be an item in the summer of 1997 creating a media storm, and their relationship was cut short in the car crash that August.

While this news somewhat tells us the last few months of her life are set to be a part of the show, producers of the series have yet to confirm if her death will be dealt with.

While that is yet to be revealed, the fifth season may not even get to that point as Elizabeth has signed on to play Diana in the sixth season also, with Salim Daw cast as Dodi’s father and former Harrods owner Mohammed Al-Fayed.

Dominic West is set to join the cast as Prince Charles, with Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Phillip and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret.
