Love Island: Last night’s recoupling has two couples questioning everything

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Tonight.

It was the first recoupling since the drama unfolded after Casa Amor and this one seems to be having a lot of islanders rethinking their decisions.

Mary wasn’t hiding the fact that she was upset when Abigail picked Dale in the recoupling, and Clarisse can immediately sense it.

And she’s not the only one who picked up on something as Abigail pulls Dale for a chat, saying: “I feel awful. I feel like I’ve torn a couple apart. I didn’t realise that you two were that close.”

Dale replies: “I’ll be straight up with you. Me and her [Mary] vibe good and I feel like we’re getting on really well. I do really like her.”

Abigail then says: “F**k sake. Why has no-one spoke to me?”

But all gets cleared up very quickly between Dale and Mary as they discuss their feelings for each other, and by “discuss” we absolutely mean they kiss.

After being extremely quiet over the last few days, so quiet we almost forgot he was there, Hugo is questioning his connection with Amy.

This might be the most Hugo thing for him to do, push away the person who shows him any affection in the slightest.

While Amy is feeling it too, Hugo thinks their relationship has changed since they left Casa Amor and they delve into why that might be.

Amy says: “I definitely do feel like there is distance between us.”

Hugo replies: “What would me trying more look like? You haven’t pulled me.”

Amy snaps back with: “I feel like I’ve pulled you enough.”

Which Hugo quickly says: “I literally can’t think of a time.”

Will Hugo have to go back on his search for love or can he patch things up with Amy?

And another islander is causing some of the same drama, Tyler is still trying to win Kaz over despite her choosing Matthew in the recoupling.

Tyler asks Kaz: “What is the situation at the moment?”

Kaz says: “With me and Matt?”

Tyler replies: “No, us! Do you feel as if the door is still open, or is that it?”

Kaz admits: “The door’s open a crack.”

Tyler asks: “What is the only thing keeping it open for you then?”

Kaz says: “The little feelings I have. Tiny feelings I have.”

Honestly, who knows what will happen with this pair at this point.

But the drama really gets going tonight when Millie gets a text asking them all to head to the fire pit after the public have been voting for their favourite couple.

Hugo receives another text which reads: “Islanders. Viewers have been voting for their favourite couple. Those with the fewest votes risk being dumped from the Island. Please all stand up.”

The three couples with the least amount of votes will be left standing and vulnerable, meaning someone must go but how is another question.
