Its ratings have soared this year.

Stop the lights.

We can’t get enough of Love Island this year and it seems the show’s bosses are keen to keep viewers happy by extending it for a longer run.

Yes, there could be even more lust-fuelled fun in the sun as it’s been reported that producers are keen to keep the show going to compete with the Big Brother finale.

They’ve been keeping quiet about when the show is due to end but presenter Caroline Flack may have let the cat out of the bag.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, she said “we’ve got two weeks left,” indicating that the show will run further than the expected finish date of July 24.

Extending Love Island could mean the show would clash with the final of rival reality show Big Brother or even the beginning of Celebrity Big Brother.

This year’s series has proven wildly popular, with ratings soaring in recent weeks, reports Heat.

Meanwhile, Big Brother has slipped in favour with TV viewers, meaning Channel 5 won’t be pleased if the show is further threatened by a villa full of beautiful people in swimming togs.
