Love Island’s going to be on telly for another five years so stop complaining about it

Jade Hayden

Stunning piece of news altogether.

If you’re a fan of Love Island, chances are you surround yourself with like-minded people who also enjoy switching off for an hour a day and looking at pretty people cry and have sex and stuff.

And if so, good for you.

There are people, however, who are not like us though.

These people cannot understand how watching an hour of trash TV a day is anything but a waste of time.

These people call anyone who does so ‘stupid’ and thinks that they are superior because they spend their free time watching QI or the World Cup or whatever.

Except they’re not. They’re really not.

And those people won’t be at all happy to hear that nobody cares how sick of Love Island they are because the reality TV show is set to be around for another five whole years.

Incredible.

According to Angela Jain, managing director at ITV studios entertainment, the show is going to continue to “evolve” over the years. Five years, if she has her way.

She told the Daily Star on Sunday:

“It is a show that will evolve and live and breathe.

“My hope is that it is going to be on telly for the next five years. So who knows where it will go.”

Good places, surely.

And to be honest, it doesn’t even have to evolve because we’d be happy enough just watching Jack and Dani be in love for the next five years of our lives, thanks.

Love Island continues tonight on 3e at 9pm.
