Mario Lopez has shared the first look at the Saved By The Bell reboot and the nostalgia is real.

Last year, it emerged that iconic comedy was given a straight-to-series order on NBCUnviersal’s new streaming service, Peacock.

It will see Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley reprise their roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano. The series would explore what happens when California Gov. Zack Morris gets in trouble after closing too many low-income schools.

He ends up suggesting that the students who are affected be sent to the highest performing schools in California – which, in this case, would include Bayside High. The new students give the privileged students of Bayside High a “much-needed and hilarious” reality check.

And over the weekend, Lopez – who played A.C. Slater on the sitcom – shared a behind-the-scenes video from The Max.

“All right we just shot our first scene… well not really our first scene, it was like a promo for Saved by the Bell,” he said.

“But I feel like only the people who have the history we have could drop right on in like that,” Elizabeth Berkley added.

It comes as it was revealed that Mark-Paul Gosselaar would be reprising his role as Zack Morris for “at least” three episodes.

Saved By The Bell ran for four seasons on NBC from 1989 to 1993. It led to two spin-off series – Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class – and two TV movies.

NBC’s streaming service, Peacock, will launch in April 2020. The original series’ will arrive in summer 2020.
