Mila Kunis revealed how she got with Ashton and it’s not what we expected

Talk about life imitating art.

Slightly less romantic than we had hoped.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are one of the cutest couples in Hollywood. We saw them star alongside each other as an on-screen couple in That ’70s Show and always knew they were well suited.

But after they both entered into long-term relationships with other people, Ashton marrying Demi Moore and Mila dating Macauley Culkin for eight years, it seemed like they were never going to get together.

That was until both those relationships ended and they rekindled their flame and got married and now have a daughter together. While it all seems very sweet and “meant to be”, it turns out the way they eventually got together is not as romantic as it could have been.

Mila was chatting on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show when she dished some details about their relationship. She said that they began dating by being “friends with benefits” and from there the relationship developed and so did their feelings.

Interesting the pair both starred in movies with the exact premise, Ashton starred alongside Natalie Portman in No Strings Attached, while Mila worked with Justin Timberlake on Friends with Benefits.

Mila references this fact when speaking to Howard and explains how they bumped into each other at an awards show in 2012 and Ashton ended up inviting her to his house party a few days later. Before she arrived he had planned on setting her up with one of his friends but once she got there he changed his mind and instead they spent the night together.

From there they continued to have a casual relationship based around sex.

Speaking to Howard, she said, “We, oddly, both did a movie, I did Friends With Benefits, he did a movie called No Strings Attached. If we just paid attention to these movies, we should know that sh** like this does not work out in real life. Well, we clearly didn’t pay attention. We shook hands, we’re like, ‘Let’s just have fun!’ I mean, literally we lived out our movies. We literally just had a very open conversation.”

Howard then asked, “I thought he was going to go on a mad tear after he broke up with Demi?” At which point Mila replied, “You and I both, Howard… So, then we end up having a lot of talks about how this is a huge mistake, and how he needs to be single and I need to go and be single.”

She added, “We both were in agreement. ‘Yeah, this is just fun. Just fun.’ Shook hands on it. Just fun. Three months later … I was like, ‘This isn’t fun anymore!” So then they decided to give it proper go and the rest is history.

She finished by saying, “It truly is being married to your best friend. That’s a cliché; it’s cheesy. But it’s true.”
