Who knew Busted had it in them to come up with such a banger of a tune? They had some catchy songs back in the day but it's very hard to come back after all this time and still produce the goods. And, what's more, they've totally changed their style and sound, for the better.
The start is quite like Daft Punk and then it changes to a Justin Timberlake/Pharrell Williams style song.
Their new song On What You’re On is now available to stream and download ahead of the release of their third album Night Driver on November 11th.
Speaking about the new single, Charlie said, “We can't wait for people to hear this song and be able to share what we have been working so hard on for the past twelve months.”
Matt added, “As soon as we started making music it became very apparent that we all wanted to make exactly the same thing. That’s what made it so easy. Once James got on the Juno-60 we were like, ‘this is the sound of our record, this is exactly the kind of record I wanna make’.
James also said, “The last thing we wanted to do was try to recreate what we used to have. It belongs to that time. All real artists evolve, all real artists try things, it’s unnatural not to.”
Collaborating with Alex Metric (Charli XCX) to co-produce the single they say it defines a slick new sonic direction for Busted. The video, which was directed by Andrew Hines was shot in LA and features New York based performance artist Alexandra Marzella.
To quote Alice in here, "This Busted song is giving me life today."
Also, can we add that Charlie was always good looking but boy has he grown into himself.
