Despite massive success in the last number of years, including being nominated for Grammys last week, it has been reported that Coldplay’s upcoming album may well be their last.
The band are currently in studio recording A Head Full of Dreams which will be their seventh studio album, however lead singer Chris Martin revealed to BBC Radio 1 that this could be the last album they do together.
“It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that. Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something.
“Now we are making things that sound different. It’s just a very fun time to be in our band," he continued. “I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”
With plans in the pipeline to do A Head Full of Dreams tour, if this does indeed prove to be their last album, Coldplay fans will get the chance to see them one last time on stage.
