Ed Sheeran addresses use of his song ‘to promote the Pro-Life campaign’

Ed Sheeran has shared a statement on the use of one of his popular songs to "promote the Pro-Life campaign."

The singer said today that he had not given approval for his song, 'Small Bump', to be used by the campaign. He added that this use "does not reflect" the message of the song. Taking to Instagram Stories, he said: Ed wrote:

"I've been informed that my song 'Small Bump' is being used to promote the Pro-Life campaign, and I feel it's important to let you know I have not given approval for this use, and it does not reflect what the song is about."

He did not specify which pro-life group was using the song. 'Small Bump' is a song about a pregnancy that ends prematurely. Ed revealed that he wrote the song about a friend of his who miscarried when she was five months pregnant. It featured on Sheeran's first album, +. Ed will continue his run of Irish gigs tonight and tomorrow night.
