Glen Hansard and band have announced a gig at Vicar Street, Dublin this coming December in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust.
The event will see Hansard re-group with his band for a special one-off performance on December 15th, which will be his first live show in Dublin since his two-night run in Vicar Street in 2013.
Special guests will join the popular musician on the night, and the band will feature members of The Frames.
This is a much-anticipated night for fans of the singer, who has spent the last 12 months or so recording and writing a follow-up to last year’s Rhythm and Repose album. He also performed in Brazil, Australia and in the USA earlier this year.
All profits from the December show will go to the Peter McVerry Tryst which was established in 1983. The organization was founded by Fr. Peter McVerry to tackle homelessness, social disadvantage and drug misuse.
Over the years, it has supported thousands of vulnerable young people and is accommodating over 300 people per night in Dublin.
Tickets, priced at €30, will go on sales this Thursday, October 9th at 9am, from Ticketmaster and other outlets nationwide.
