Hozier has just launched a new podcast about changing the world. The 'Take Me To Church' singer will be chatting to a number of notable people including musicians, artists, writers, campaigners about their own contributions to doing good in the world - and what we need to do next to keep the good work up. The first episode of the new podcast, aptly named Cry Power, features Hozier's good friend Annie Lennox. The pair discuss Lennox’s family history of activism, Eurythmics’ contribution to Rock Against Racism, as well as her founding of NGO, The Circle. Upcoming guests include Bono, Marcus Mumford and Mavis Staples. “I've found the making of the Cry Power podcast to be enlightening and inspiring," said Hozier. "Sitting down with people I have such admiration for and hearing the stories of how they sought to make a change with what was available to them has been encouraging and uplifting.” The podcast is being released alongside Global Citizen, a platform for young people encouraging world leaders to achieve sustainability. Global Citizen co-founder, Simon Moss says: "Global Citizen is extremely proud to partner with Hozier to find exciting, creative new ways to spark conversation around the Global Goals for Sustainable Development — and inspire more people to join our movement to end extreme poverty. The new podcast comes after Hozier's smash hit single 'Nina Cried Power.' Released earlier this year, the track featured vocals from Mavis Staples, who will also be appearing on the Cry Power podcast. The song's video paid tribute to activists in Ireland including those who aided in the campaign to repeal the eighth amendment and those who have fought against direct provision.
