Walking on Cars, Mick Flannery, Little Hours and guests will perform on Saturday night, with Damien Dempsey, Mundy and guest taking to the stage on Sunday. Tickets for both performances will be priced at €20, with funds going to the Oncology Unit at Tralee General Hospital.
The INEC Acoustic Club will host charity gigs from Aprés Match and guests on Saturday night and Jason Byrne and guests on Sunday night, with tickets priced €15.
“We have been contacted directly by a number of our regular artists who still wish to perform in Killarney this weekend. They are determined not to disappoint their loyal fans and, as our venues have no acts scheduled for this weekend, we are able to oblige,” said Patrick O’Donoghue, Managing Director of The Gleneagle Hotel and INEC. “
“The artists we have spoken to want to play Killarney and they are happy to donate the proceeds to charity, we feel that it is in the best interest of everyone to help make this happen.”
Walking on Cars have also issued a statement saying they are delighted with the development.
“We're very disappointed to hear that Killarney Festival isn't going ahead. We've never cancelled a show before and we don't intend on starting now. We're putting on a show in the INEC on Saturday night. All of the proceeds will go to Cuan Counselling and the Tralee Oncology unit.”
Tickets for all acts will be on sale through ticketmaster.ie and outlets nationwide shortly, alternatively you can call the INEC Box Office on 064 6671555.Explore more on these topics:
