The discussion around the song began when local radio station, Star 102 in Cleveland, Ohio, decided to remove the track from its playlists in the lead up the holiday season.
At the time, DJ Glenn Anderson wrote that although the track was written over half a century ago, the lyrics were "manipulative and wrong."
"The world we live in is extra sensitive now, and people get easily offended, but in a world where #MeToo has finally given women the voice they deserve, the song has no place."
