Louis Walsh has revealed that he thinks it’s time for Boyzone to hang up their microphones and move aside for the younger singers coming through.
Louis, who managed the band for a number of years after forming them back in 1993, has spoken out telling them to let it go.
“They are a bit beyond it now,” the X Factor judge, whose new band Hometown claimed the number one position in the charts this week said. “It’s time to let it go.”
According to the Mirror, Louis made the comments after the foursome released their latest album called Dublin to Detroit which is a Motown-inspired record.
“Motown?” I mean to do Motown you have to be amazing singers and I don’t know whose idea that was but it was the worst idea in the world,” Louis continued. “It really was.
“Boyzone cannot do Motown, next thing they will be doing Irish Republican songs. It’s time to go out and go out with a little bit of dignity.
“They haven’t really had a hit record since I left if I’m honest,” the talent show judge added. “I’m concentrating on Hometown now and it couldn’t be off to a better start.”
