"We’ve been making a new album for Universal"
Some of the biggest names in Rock have formed a supergroup and are teasing the release of a new album later this year.
'Mantra Of The Cosmos,' is made up of Ringo Star’s son Zak Starkey, Oasis bassist Andy Bell, The Lightning Seeds frontman Ian Broudie and Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Bez.
According to reports, the newly formed band has been working in the background on their new music for Universal Records.
Speaking to
The Sun, band member Shaun Ryder said: “I’ve got a new bad together.
“It’s me, Zak Sharkey, you know, Ringo’s son, and the drummer in The Who, Andy Bell from Oasis and Ian Broudie from The Lightning Seeds.
“And we’ve been making a new album for Universal.
“It’s a bit of a mixture of all that lot together.”
During the interview, Shaun said the group hope that the album will be released later this year.
However, when questioned about the band’s “sound,” he said fans won’t be able to guess what’s to come because it’s different from anything they have done in the past.
He explained: “It doesn’t sound like the Mondays or Black Grape or Oasis or The Who, it’s what we’re doing all together.
“It’s coming out very soon.
Shaun then revealed: “We’re doing Glastonbury with Mantra Of The Cosmos this year.
“It’s coming out pretty soon.”
