Oh No, Really? College Mascot Requests Nirvana Video Message For Homecoming

Yesterday we dedicated a gallery to 18 talented musician and actors that passed away long before their time, on that list was the undeniably talented Kurt Cobain. For those of you who don’t know who Kurt Cobain is here are a few facts. 

Kurt Cobain was the front man of one of the greatest Rock bands of all time, Nirvana. Along with Krist Novoselic bass guitarist and Dave Grohl (now front man of Foo Fighters) on drums and backing vocals they enjoyed phenomenal success with hit records and famous tracks such as ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit.’ Cobain commit suicide in 1994 at the young age of 27 after a long battle with drug addiction.

That was 19 years ago.

However Sub Pop records received a mail two days ago from a college student in the run for homecoming queen requesting a message from Sub Pop’s one time recording artists, Nirvana, affirming their support for her campaign… We wish we were joking.

The girl who wishes to remain unidentified asked for a general message that went something like this…

"What’s up Virginia Tech? This is Nirvana! Just wanted to wish you guys a Happy Homecoming Week and good luck at the game this Saturday. LET’S GO HOKIES!"

We’re sure Dave Grohl and the boys would we more than happy to help out.
