Things are going from bad to worse in the X Factor camp this week as it has been revealed that singer Lauren Platt has been struck down with an extremely bad dose of the 'flu.
The news comes just one day after there were fears surrounding Andrea Faustini being able to perform following a breakdown after Sunday night’s results show.
Now it has been reported that Lauren may have to pull out of Saturday night’s show due to the illness. The singer was reportedly sent home earlier this week to try and rest her voice.
However, she then put herself through the paces at rehearsals yesterday and insiders are now worried that she did too much and won’t be recovered for tomorrow.
“Lauren has been really ill. Earlier in the week we had to cancel an entire day of filming so she could go to bed,” a source told The Sun. “She was determined to come back the following day and rehearse but she is now both behind in practice, and under the weather.
“It has been very stressful for her, and we are all conscious of that,” the source continued. “At the moment, she is determined to sing tomorrow regardless and no one wants to tell her otherwise.
“But the truth is that it is very much up in the air. If she isn’t well, she won’t be on that stage… For Lauren to not be able to perform would be devastating – it is the last thing that anyone wants.
“But she is also worried being ill will affect her performance if she goes on. The odds are really against her this week.”
Lauren is the last contestant remaining for mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
