Bono might be injured, but the show went on nonetheless for U2 at a World AIDS Day (#onestep4RED) benefit gig in Times Square in New York on Monday night.
The band’s frontman, who has recently undergone surgery following a biking accident, called in a favour with two of his friends who happily stepped in to take his place on the night. Enter Chris Martin of Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen of… well, legendary status.
The pair fronted U2 for the night, with Chris belting out hits such as Beautiful Day and With or Without You. The man himself, Mr Springsteen, sang Where the Streets Have no Name and I Still Haven’t found What I’m Looking For.
The whole event was really a special chance for fans to see some of the biggest names in the music industry over the last number of years come together in one epic performance.
