Well worth your time…

There’s going to be plenty of downtime over the holidays for you to take in some telly.

In reality, much of your days around the Christmas period will revolve around conversations with your family about how there’s nothing on the TV (despite the fact there’s been about eight movies on already that same day).

At least nowadays we’re not stuck with the same four channels and relying on the television gods to serve us up something every night of the week.

So if you’re looking for a good gritty series to watch over the coming weeks, then this new addition from Netflix may be right up your street.

A lot of people are currently talking about the American miniseries, Manhunt: Unabomber, which follows the FBI’s attempts to apprehend the Unabomber.

The Unabomber was Ted Kaczynski, who for decades, kept law enforcement and the public on edge by sending explosives through the mail which killed and maimed his victims before he was eventually caught in 1996.

The series is led by Paul Bettany and Sam Worthington. Bettany playing Kaczynski and Worthington playing Jim Fitzgerald, a profiler whose unconventional ideas about linguistics analysis eventually helped the FBI to catch the Unabomber.

The series is available on Netflix and has been given 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.2 rating on IMDB.

While there’s been criticism of what is perceived as repetitiveness at times, but overall, the series is well worth some of your time, especially if you’re at a loose end over the Christmas or violently hungover on your Sunday.
