New details about the Pretty Little Liars spinoff are here

Things are going to get interesting.

A new generation of Pretty Little Liars is here.

Following the series’ finale earlier this year, it was announced that a PLL spinoff, called The Perfectionists, is on the way.

Not much had been known about the series following the announcement of a pilot order in September, which is when it was confirmed that Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) and Mona Vanderwaal (Janel Parrish) would be returning.

But according to TVLine, casting for the newest generation of Pretty Little Liars has gotten underway – and we’re intrigued.

Like the original series, some of the characters and their personality traits were lifted directly from the books by Sara Shepard that the show will be based on.

However some smaller details have been slightly tweaked for the small screen adaptation.

First up, there’s Caitlin Martell-Lewis, the daughter of two over-achieving mothers – one of whom is a US senator. And Caitlin, who is an expert at hiding secrets, hopes to follow in her mum’s political footsteps…provided her own secrets don’t catch up with her first.

Then there’s Nolan Hotchkiss, described as being “a natural born leader” and the heir to his family’s empire – and a manipulator who uses his family and friends to keep up his image.

Next up on the casting list there’s a couple who sound like they could become some firm fan favourites: prodigal cellist Dylan and his “nerd-chic” boyfriend Andrew.

The casting descriptions also reveal that we can expect to see plenty more from the trendsetting fashionista with a “brilliant technological mind”, Ava Jalali; as well as British scientist Jeremy Beckett.

The original Freeform description for the series reads:

“Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents.

“But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder.

“Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.”
