Some love it… some, not so much.
Warner Bros gave amateur filmmakers the go ahead to make a prequel film about Lord Voldemort, and while we thought it would send Potter fans into a frenzy, it seems some people are not too happy with the outcome.
Voldemort: Origins of the Heir was released on YouTube last night, and it’s a 52-minute film about the young Tom Riddle and his rise to evil.
The film centres around a woman called Grisha, who is the heir of Hogwarts founder Godric Gryffindor.
At the beginning of the film, she is arrested and interrogated by police due to her ongoing hunt for Tom Riddle – whom she believes killed a Hufflepuff relative.
There are many flashbacks throughout the film also, and viewers get to see the young Tom Riddle in his hayday. However, Grisha believes even though his actions are evil, he can be redeemed.
And while this short flick may be the thing that Potterheads have been craving, some fans weren’t too fussed about it:
Didn’t really like “Voldemort: Origins Of The Heir”. It’s just not the complete Tom Riddle story and the extra characters where not in the books or movies… pic.twitter.com/qgmEbrtaNQ

Did anyone watch the fanmade film about Voldemort on YouTube?
I had high hopes from the trailer, but the ADR was distractingly terrible.

origins of the heir > cursed child

Voldemort: Origins of the Heir is a visually stunning lesson in the dangers of relying on ADR. ?

To be honest, we’re still going to watch it. #Potter4Life.
