Noel Fielding teases the return of The Mighty Boosh

Jade Hayden

Iconic.

There are plenty of things that have made a comeback in recent months.

The Spice Girls is one of them. Westlife is another. Home Alone is another one but we won’t talk about that because it’s unnecessary, alright?

The reboot can either be a blessing or a curse.

It can provide audiences with a much needed continuation of a narrative, some closure, or a selection of new jokes for a new age.

Or it can be a money making scheme involving cast members that simply don’t want to be there, a plot that’s been driven into the ground, and a Netflix special that literally nobody asked for.

Thankfully, if The Mighty Boosh were to come back, it would be the former that we’d be receiving because Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt are funny lads and that’s a funny show.

And while we don’t have any actual confirmation yet that the BBC comedy will indeed be making a comeback, Noel has been teasing the possibility over on his Instagram.

Stranger things have happened, etc.

“There really wasn’t enough Boosh this decade!” he said. “Let’s try and rectify that in the next one 😉 x”

So yeah, that’s happening then. Sound.

The Mighty Boosh aired from 2004 to 2008, after finding its beginnings as a six episode radio series and three stage shows.

The concept was developed by Fielding and Barratt in the 1990s after they met on the comedy circuit and decided to form a double act.

Both comedians have since gone on to have successful solo careers with Fielding making regular appearances on Channel 4 panel shows as well as hosting the more recent series of The Great British Bake Off.

Barratt has gone on to act in several productions on and off stage including In Fabric, The Harry Hill Movie, and The Government Inspector.
