The best news ever!

We were already on a high with news that one of the greatest reality TV shows of all time, The Hills, is getting a reboot but now, it gets even better. With Brody Jenner having been confirmed to make his return to the show two weeks ago alongside stars Heidi and Spencer, Audrina and Justin Bobby, now we’re hearing of another star joining the ranks. The OC star Mischa Barton has been confirmed to join the MTV reality show in what is one of the greatest TV announcements we’ve heard in a while. Sharing the news on her Instagram, Mischa said:

“The secret’s out… I’m joining the cast of The Hills," cue fans everywhere freaking out. "When MTV approached me with the chance to be a part of the reality show that was inspired by The OC, it felt like the perfect opportunity for an irresistibly inviting new chapter.”

While the actress is no stranger to the small screen, she is new to the world of reality TV but is sure to be a huge hit among viewers. The 32-year-old (can you believe Marissa is 32?) rose to fame in the noughties teen drama but stepped away from acting shortly after finishing her stint on the WB show. News of her addition to The Hills reboots obviously has fans delighted, with many taking to Twitter to share their excitement.

“Just to recap – The Hills originally was a spinoff of Laguna Beach, which itself was originally developed as a reality television version of The OC,” reminded one fan.

It’s been a little over a month since news of a reboot was announced and with Barton’s addition to the show, we think this could be the show that’s been missing from our lives since around, we don’t know, 2010.
