Binge watching season five of Orange is the New Black?

If so, you're probably familiar with Helen who joined the show in season four but is proving a central character in the newest episodes. Now, as we've come to realise, the internet loves it when an actor's look for a role is completely different to their usual appearance. Francesca Curran plays Helen Van Maele and in stark contrast to her on-screen character, she doesn't have any tattoos and wait for it, every single day, she shaves her hair because her natural locks grow so quickly. Now if that's not a commitment, we don't know what is. In an interview with Insider, Helen explained the whole process, from start to finish, which takes over an hour every single day. "I have usually three people working on my tattoos at one given time. So, they get it done, in I'd say, about an hour". In addition to the tattoos, her eyebrows are whitened, teeth greyed and she's given dark under-eye circles as you'll see below from these snaps.

The 23-year-old said she's "girly" in real life and the first time she saw herself in disguise, it was quite a shock to the system.

"In real life, I'm so feminine. I'm so girly. I love my makeup, I love my jewellery and all that; so to really be stripped of all that ... The first time I was like, okay, wow." "I found myself in the mirror and was like, this is a striking ... what a difference".

When she's not filming, she grows her hair into a pixie cut but she also wears wigs and shares photos of her different looks on her Instagram account. You would NOT know her as several of her Instagram followers have pointed out, leaving comments on the below posts.
