One Disney Princess Looks Set to Make a BIG Return!
All hail princess Mia Thermopolis!
Reports today claim that The Princess Diaries 3 is in the works at Disney.
The original movie shot Hollywood newcomer Anne Hathaway to fame in 2001. Oscar-winner Hathaway played the central role of the awkward teen-turned-royalty, dealing with typical teen challenges of mean girls and first kisses along the way. Her co-star in the film was the highly memorable Julie Andrews as Queen Clarisse of Genovia.
A sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement, followed in 2004.
Eleven years on, it seems the Genovian royals are set for a return to the big screen, as Tracking Board claims Walt Disney Pictures are moving ahead with another instalment. Debra Chase, who produced the first two movies, is reportedly on board, but it is not yet known if Hathaway will return to the role that made her famous.
