One of our favourite Vampire Diaries characters is returning for the new spin-off

Keeley Ryan

Yes, there is another spin-off.

Following The Vampire Diaries and The Originals is definitely tough – but the newest Mystic Falls spin-off, Legacies, will have some help from…well, a legacy.

The series, set in the new Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted, will follow 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson, the new student at school owned and run by Alaric Saltzman and Caroline Forbes  – who also teaches the students how to control their gifts.

Since Hope has to try and control her tribrid (vampire, werewolf and witch) powers, we’d imagine she has a lot to learn still.

And who better to lend a hand than one of the members of the founding families?

The Vampire Diaries’ Jeremy Gilbert is going to pop up at the boarding school, according to TV Line, and we imagine he’s the perfect candidate to be sharing his experiences.

He’s not the only familiar face that will be appearing on Legacies, either.

Zach Roerig, who played Matt Donovan, is also going to be popping up – so, we’ve got our fingers crossed we’ll be seeing even more of our favourite Mystic Falls residents in Legacies.

The trailer was released at Comic Con late last month – and you can check it out below.
