The Academy Award nominations have been announced, and Ruth Negga has been nominated in the Best Actress category.
Ruth Negga has received her first ever Academy Award nomination for her role in Loving.
The Irish-Ethiopian actress rose to prominence playing Rosie in Love/Hate and can now dream of taking home an Oscar for her role opposite Joel Edgerton in the critically-acclaimed historical drama.
Negga will go up against Isabelle Huppert, Natalie Portman, Emma Stone and Meryl Streep in the Best Actress category.
