Peachy keen, jellybean! A Pink Ladies TV show is officially in the works

“She looks too pure to be pink!”

The true stars of Grease are finally getting their own spin-off and we’re more than ready for it!

The Pink Ladies are set to return to our screens in a new TV series called Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.

The Paramount Television Studios production tells the origin story of everyone’s favourite, and the coolest, high school chicks.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies takes place 4 years before the original Grease movie. Before rock ‘n’ roll ruled, before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school, four fed-up, outcast girls dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.

There’s no doubt that fans of the 1978 movie are going to love the prequel.

According to Variety, the series will reveal all about Rizzo, Frenchy, Jan, and Marty before Sandy arrived at Rydell High.

The 10 episode series will be written and produced by Annabel Oakes of Atypical. Marty Bowen and Erik Feig will also executively produced the series. Both Bowen and Feig are working on the Grease prequel movie Summer Lovin’ so we’ve got very high hopes.

The series will include brand new songs, but fans can hopefully look forward to hearing an original track or two if Paramount TV can score the copyright.

As far as the cast is concerned, their lips are sealed but we’re already dreaming up a potential cast.

We’re thinking Elizabeth Gillies as Rizzo, Florence Pugh as Frenchy, Kiernan Shipka as Marty, and Maya Hawke as Jan.
