Penn Badgley reveals something about season 2 of YOU and it sounds disgusting

Olivia Hayes

It’s the TV show that gripped us all last Christmas.

While YOU first aired on Lifetime in the US last autumn, it didn’t arrive onto Netflix until Stephen’s Day – and of course we binged the whole thing over the Christmas break.

It sucked us into watching how a stalker will go so far to be with the one he’s obsessed with.

If you haven’t watched it – stop reading now because there are spoilers ahead.

Joe, the main character/stalker/killer starts off by peering in Beck’s window at night, reading her emails and whatnot, but he quickly escalates to killing her ex-boyfriends and best friends, in a desperate attempt to have her all for himself.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Penn Badgley who plays Joe revealed that he’s currently filming season two of the series… and he’s had to do some pretty rotten stuff already.

The 32-year-old said: “There are some things I’ve done with prosthetic bodies in this [new] season that were kind of nauseating as I did them, I will say that.”

Disgusting. Awful. Why do we watch it?

Because it’s TV gold, that’s why.

In terms of the plot, the story is set to loosely follow the second novel in the series by Caroline Kepnes, titled Hidden Bodies. However, considering the TV adaptation of You has already made some divergences from the original story, we can probably assume they will continue to continue this trend.

We know that the much-lusted-after Joe will be back, and we can probably count on his “Oh, we thought she was dead?” ex, Candace (Ambyr Childers) to be back, too.

On top of that, another new arrival will be Joe’s new love-interest, named… eh… Love. She’ll be played by The Haunting Of Hill House’s Victoria Pedretti and the character will be “an aspiring chef working as a produce manager in a high-end grocery store.”
