People can’t get enough of Iceland’s entry for Eurovision 2020

People can’t get enough of Iceland’s entry for Eurovision 2020.

The 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be taking place in Rotterdam this year, after Duncan Laurence’s victory in Tel Aviv in 2019.

The semi finals are scheduled to take place on May 12 and May 14, with the final airing on May 16 – and 41 countries are set to be taking part this year.

And with a little less than three months to go, there’s one Eurovision entry that’s already taking social media by storm.

Daði Freyr and his band Gagnamagnið are set to represent Iceland with the synth-pop song Think About Things. And we’re totally hoping that they recreate the video on stage.

The song  (and the accompanying video) has gone down an absolute storm with social media users, even catching the attention of some famous faces like Rylan Clark-Neal – who said he reckons it will do well in this year’s Eurovision – and Russell Crowe.

Yes, really.

Daði spoke to The Independent about the inspiration behind the song.

“The song is about my daughter – she’s ten months old now so I’m starting to understand her a little better but in the beginning it’s weird because you love a person so much and have no idea what they think about you,” he said.

“Also I’m just excited to know what she ‘thinks about things’ in general. She will probably have strong opinions about stuff that will challenge the way I have thought about life.”

You can watch the video for Think About Things, Iceland’s Eurovision entry for 2020, below.
